Warning

**** ATTENTION: GINSBURG CLUSTER DOWNTIME on 4/6/2021 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM ***

The Ginsburg cluster will be shut down for storage equipment maintenance and unavailable on Tuesday April 6th 2021 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. During this maintenance period, technicians will replace faulty hardware to permanently address a recurring storage issue.

Please note that you will not have access to the Ginsburg cluster or to any files located on its storage area during this time.

During the Ginsburg downtime, users who also have accounts on the Habanero cluster may once again use Habanero, since we expect Habanero service to be restored prior to Monday April 5th.

The Ginsburg job scheduler will be configured not to start any newly submitted jobs whose requested walltime extends into the downtime window. These jobs will wait in the queue until after the downtime is completed, at which point they will be free to run in accordance with the regular scheduling rules.

Since the default walltime on Ginsburg is 5 days, you may wish to specify shorter walltime requests to ensure jobs complete prior to the downtime.

Please contact us at hpc-support@columbia.edu with any questions or concerns.
